GCS International Conference

TANZANIA

Things to do and Places to go:

  • For any delegates that wish to visit the fabulous Island of “Zanzibar” (www.zanzibar.net), the Kunduchi Beach Resort also has a resort located there, (www.zanzibarbeachresort.net). [Not to be confused with Zanzibar beach resort.com, which is the Fairmont resort];

  • The Kunduchi will provide GCS attendees with a very special accommodation rate, inclusive of breakfast of US$66.00 (+ 25% taxes and service fees), if anyone wishes to visit and stay at this resort;

  • Zanzibar is approximately 60 klms from Dar Es Salaam and can be reached by high speed ferry or inexpensive commuter plane;

  • If any delegates wish to visit the city of Dar Es Salaam, the hotel will provide a 24 seater bus for a 4 hour tour at somewhere around US$15-20 per person and can be visited possibly the day after the closure of the conference or during the day of the 20th October.  If interested please advise.

Wildlife Parks:

  • Tanzania's abundant wildlife thrives in some of the world's largest open range and protected areas of wilderness; add the jaw-dropping scenes of huge animal migrations and it comes as no surprise to learn that the parks and reserves of Tanzania are the main draw card for so many international visitors. Photographers (both amateur and professional) spend a great deal of time in Tanzania capturing never to be repeated wildlife and safari;

  • The closest Wildlife parks to the Kunduchi are “Saadani” (1.5 hour drive), and “Mikumi” which is a 4 hour drive from Dar Es Salaam and Ruaha;

  • These are very good options for delegates with limited time and can only afford 1-2 days;

  • Then there is also the “Serengeti” and “Ngorongoro” crater, but you will need to fly from Dar Es Salaam which takes several hours. It is well worth making the time as these two sites, along with Mount Kilimanjaro are recognised as amongst the best free range safari parks in the world;

  • GCS Partners should check out the various websites, and it is suggested you develop a knowledge of what you would like to see and do, prior to either the hotel or Joseph making any bookings or arrangements;

  • Simply www.GOOGLE.com / Tanzania, wildlife, safari, etc.
